The Trek Fishermen have been part of Fish Hoek`s history for, well, its history. Trek fishing has been done in the bay for many years and still like clock-work, you`ll find them there. Generally they will have a lookout on the mountain who looks out for the fish and as soon as he spots them, he lets the others know and he then instructs them as to where the fish are as they move along.
The Trek Fishermen also initiated the Shark Spotters programme, where a person will sit up on the mountain and keep a lookout for any shark activity in the bay and thus inform the bathers.
